ICAI CA Intermediate Eligibility Criteria May 2025

After clearing the CA Foundation exams, candidates can enroll in the CA Intermediate course. Alternatively, graduates or postgraduate students can opt for the Direct Entry Route, which enables them to bypass the CA Foundation level and directly register for the CA Intermediate exam. 

To qualify for this direct entry scheme, candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria, providing a convenient and time-efficient pathway to advancing their Chartered Accountancy journey. 

• Commerce graduates or postgraduates must secure a minimum of 55% marks.
• Non-commerce graduates or postgraduates must secure at least 60% marks.
• Those who have cleared the intermediate level of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India or the Institute of Company Secretaries of India are also eligible.
• Additionally, students appearing for their final year graduation exams can apply under the provisional registration scheme, providing a flexible pathway to pursuing their Chartered Accountancy dreams

How to Register for the CA Intermediate Course 

To enroll in the CA Intermediate course, students can conveniently register online by submitting the registration form and paying the required fees. Upon successful payment, the system will instantly generate the registration form, confirming their enrollment and paving the way for their Chartered Accountancy journey.

• Log in to the Self-Service Portal (SSP) using your registered email ID and password.
• Upon authentication, navigate to the Student SSP portal.
• Select your student cycle (CA Foundation or Direct Entry).
• Fill in the required details and click "Save and Next."
• Verify your login credentials by entering the received OTP.
• Once logged in, provide additional details as prompted.
• Finally, complete the registration process by paying the fees online through the secure payment gateway."

Validity Period for CA Intermediate Registration

The CA Intermediate registration has a validity period of 4 years from the date of first registration. If you're unable to complete the course within this timeframe, you can opt for revalidation, which extends the registration validity by an additional 4 years. To revalidate, simply pay the requisite fee of ₹400 (or as amended by the Council from time to time). 

CA Intermediate Course Fees

For Indian students, the total fee for both groups is₹20,700, while for a single group, it is₹14,500. On the other hand, foreign students are required to pay $1500 for both groups and $925 for a single group. Before 14 days of the exam, the ICAI released the CA Intermediate admit card on its official website, eservices.icai.org. To print their admission card on A4-sized paper, candidates must first log in to the website. Every applicant must provide a printed copy of their admit card to the testing location.
